Currently at my sister wolf’s and sister bear’s house just talking about animals and taxidermy.
I wanted to take some pictures of their beautiful pelts.
So here you go!!
My favorite is the first picture of the red fox, named Lady. She’s beautiful.
Note: for anyone passing by that may seem weary of this:
I promise that these animals were not abused and were taken from safe places.
We do no endorse animal abuse or animal killing for sport. We, personally, do not kill animals. All pelts and furs were taken from roadkill, game, and sources outside (that we’ve learned where to avoid the more sketchy places and find those who understand animal care).
We understand colony control and the using of furs and bones for practical uses, for it has been done since the beginning by our ancestors.
Even my own grandmother has done it.
Each animal has been given a soul sending prayer so it’s soul will live on in peace.
Of course, we occasionally have found pelts that have obviously been abused, so we pray that the spirit is in a better place and ask it’s permission. The second hand sources the pelts are from aren’t from those that have killed the animals.
When confronted by people who disagree with my work, I often hear the argument of, “You wouldn’t make an human into a headdress, would you?” because they expect my answer to be an incredulous “NO FUCKING WAY!”
But the reality of it is, I see all animals’ lives as having equal value. Humans are…
This was insightful and even inspiring — a true pleasure to read.
